Yesterday I met the Robert Oswald, the brother of Lee Harvey Oswald. He's now around 70 and lives in a quiet neighborhood in Wichita Falls, Texas. It was a two-camera shoot for NBC's Today Show and the correspondent was Lester Holt. I've worked with Lester several times in the past, most notably at the Bishops Conference in Dallas. I was shooting his one-hour live show on MSNBC and we were under a tent ouside the hotel where the conference was taking place. I HUGE thunderstorm hit and everyone from NBC came out to hold something down. Lester was amazing at how he kept his show going smoothly in the midle of chaos!
Robert Oswald turned out to be one of the nicest people you'll ever want to meet. He made us feel welcomed and he told me that I was to call him anytime I'm in town for coffee.
In the interview, he said that yes, his brother did kill the president and that he acted alone. Once again, I felt that I was an eyewitness to history.
